Everyone at STAUFF is delighted with the appointment of Phil D'Ercole (pictured right), who currently works for STAUFF Canada in the role of Operations Director, as President of the CFPA, the Canadian Fluid Power Association (Association canadienne d'énergie des fluides).

Just like Phil, STAUFF Canada based in Scarbourough, Ontario has been a active member and supporter of the CFPA for many years.

Phil D'Ercole takes over from Ted O'Donnell (Bosch Rexroth Canada, pictured left) after his two-year term.

He is now at the helm of the CFPA alongside Stephanie Lamb (MP Filtri Canada), who will serve as Vice President.

Three Questions to Phil D'Ercole, President of the Canadian Fluid Power Association

Please introduce yourself.

My name is Phil D’Ercole, and I have been active in the fluid power industry for 37 years. Throughout my time in the industry, I have had the exciting privilege of working for STAUFF Canada for the past 26 years, in which I currently work as the Director of Operations.

When did you first become involved with the Canadian Fluid Power Association?

I first became involved with the CFPA in 2018. In these past 6 years, I have witnessed the association accomplish amazing feats, such as the creation of the Micro credential program to the CFPA Career portal, to name a few. I am looking forward to seeing what more we can accomplish in the years to come.

Over the past 5 years I have been an active member of the CFPA by participating on the Regional events committee. In addition, I have been a board member, past Vice President and now currently hold the position of President.

What do you value most about being a member of the Canadian Fluid Power Association?

The CFPA truly is an outstanding organization, and I look forward to working with our members. I strongly encourage all of you to get involved with the CFPA, whether it be on one of our committees, or in our regional events.

What is the Canadian Fluid Power Association?

The CFPA is committed to finding and delivering value to association members. The non-profit organisation promote fluid power technology in Canada and provides their members with the knowledge, skills and networking opportunities essential to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment. The main goal of the CFPA is to have a membership that is strong and involved while keeping it uniquely Canadian. Members include manufacturers, and distributors of fluid power components across Canada.

As the leading source of Canadian market information, members of the CFPA are in a better position to make strategic decisions by being more aware of how their business is doing compared to the overall Canadian fluid power market.

Membership also allows many opportunities to expand business: Networking with manufacturers and distributors from across the country is the best way to form new relationships and promote products and services to industry leaders. The Annual General Meeting has become the industry standard for exceptional keynotes from leaders in the fluid power and economic industries while allowing members to connect in an informal environment.
